The 2011 show featuresd 2451 dogs
participating in 2603 individual entries.

• CONFORMATION (also called a "Breed Show" -- a competition between dogs of the same breed [169 breeds entered] to determine which entry conforms closest to the Standard for that breed).
• OBEDIENCE (dogs of all breeds [87 total entries] competing at several levels of skill to determine which entry comes closest to the ideal level of training for their class).  
• RALLY OBEDIENCE (dogs of all breeds [70 total entries] competing at several levels of skill over an established course to determine which entry comes closest to the ideal level of training for their class.)
• PUPPY COMPETITION will be held in conjuction with the All-Breed Show.  (For puppies who are four months of age and over but under six months on the day of the show.  Classes will be offered for breeds and varieties, divided into the appropriate Group and the Miscellaneous Class breeds. The Miscellaneous class competition will be the equivalent of Group competition and the winner will be eligible to compete in Best Four-to-Six Puppy in Show. 
•  HEALTH CLINICS  Eye CERF exams and Cardiac exams available by pre-registration.  For more information and registration details see the Health Clinics page. 
• "MEET THE BREEDS" An opportunity to get "up close and personal" with representatives of specific breeds throughout the four days of the Blue-Gray Cluster.  View the Schedule.  This schedule may be updated as more breeds are added.  Check this site later, and check the schedule posted at the Meet The Breeds location.
• CONFORMATION FUN MATCH -- Begins immediately after Best-In-Show for regular show, or 6 PM, whichever is later.  Puppy classes plus Novice and Open Adult, and Junior Showmanship.  Click here for additional details and registration information.  (Produced by Obedience Training Class of Harrisburg.)

Miscellaneous Class Breeds

The Miscellaneous Class is intended as an interim stage prior to a breed becoming eligible to compete in a variety group at AKC shows. Under our current policy, the stud book will continue to be maintained by the Foundation Stock Service until the AKC Board of Directors sets a date for full recognition. Before entry into the Miscellaneous Class, the Board will work with the national club to determine the variety group to which the breed will be assigned. After a limited time in the Miscellaneous Class a date would be set, at which time the breed would become eligible to compete in a variety group at all-breed dog shows.

The Foundation Stock Service® (FSS®) was created by the American Kennel Club to answer the needs of today’s rare breed fanciers. The Foundation Stock Service is an optional record keeping service for all purebred breeds not currently registrable with the American Kennel Club.
