Patricia Craig Trotter, judge and educator and breeder of the famous Vin-Melca Norwegian Elkhounds, has dedicated her life to creating perfection in her chosen breed.  Her dogs have won over 400 Best In Show Awards and represented the Hound Group at Westminster an astonishing ten times.  Join us for an informative, two part session covering the elements that go into “winning Best In Show”.  Pat will address issues regarding your breeding program, ongoing education in and out of the ring, training your dogs and – through it all –  finding enjoyment in the sport and animals that we treasure.   This is a custom tailored event for our cluster – not to be missed.  Attendance limited to 100 persons.

Cost:  $85 per person; $75 if received before April 1 (includes both evenings and refreshments); $50 for a single evening event

“Feeding the Raw Diet”

 Saturday, April 12, 2008 – 10AM-12 noon

Interested in learning more about feeding a raw diet?  Ms. Hill will be presenting an overview of raw pet food and the benefits thereof for your canine friends.  Topics will include the history of pet food and nutrition, how to transition and feed a complete and balanced raw diet and how raw food may address health and allergy issues. 

Ms Hill is the Eastern Regional Manager for Nature’s Variety Pet Foods.  She has an educational background in microbiology and worked as a vet tech for over 15 years.  Ms. Hill has fed a raw diet for over 18 years to her pets.  

Cost  $10 ; $5 if received before April 1

“Capturing the Winning Shot – Dog Photography”

Presented by Mr. Tom Weigand, The Winning Image Photography

 Friday, April 11, 2008 - 1PM-3PM

(Held at the PA Farm Show Building Complex)

Tom Weigand has been a professional photographer and teacher for over 35 years. A former US Air Force photographer, Tom is a 1973 graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with a B. S. degree in Professional Photography. Tom & Sande and the staff of The Winning Image Photography Studio are based in Bernville, PA and offer:  Candid, Portrait & Advertising Photography of dogs in the studio and at AKC shows across the United States.

Please join Tom for an informative two (2) hour presentation on the basics of dog photography and capturing your breed’s unique expression for that winning photo!  He will cover how to combine good Lighting, Composition, Camera Technique and Subject Matter to create the best possible image of your dog. Tom will help you focus on photographing your dog for both professional show promotion as well as clicking a candid shot that is equal to the purple ribbon win!  There will be a one and a half hour presentation and half hour for questions.

Cost:  $20 per person; $15 if received before April 1
