Interested in Joining HKC
Are you a dog person? --
Then join the club!  Events cannot take place without clubs, and clubs cannot exist without members.

Make Connections.
Dog clubs abound with dog lovers who share common interests of raising, training, breeding, and competing with purebred dogs.

Gain Knowledge.
Dog club members are knowledgeable about canine nutrition, health, training, and development.

A dog club is the place to meet experienced people with your breed of dog and learn the fine arts of showing your dog and participating in conformation, obedience, rally, scent work, agility, tracking, hunt tests, retriever trials, and many other AKC events.

Contribute to your Community
Dog clubs strive to promote and protect dogs in their communities.

Club members teach responsible dog ownership by making presentations with their dogs in schools and at other local venues and public events.

They monitor and provide input for legislation governing responsible dog ownership.

The Harrisburg Kennel Club welcomes new members throughout the year. If you own a purebred dog and are interested in the sport of purebred dogs, consider joining us!

HOW TO JOIN:
- Attend a monthly General Membership Meeting.
- At the meeting, see the Club Secretary for a membership application, find a member to sponsor you, and submit membership application along with dues to the Secretary.

Both the general membership and the board vote on prospective members. Members receive a subscription to Kennel Yelps, Harrisburg Kennel Club’s newsletter.

Meetings are held generally the second Wednesday of most months. The public is invited to attend General Membership Meetings, however, be forewarned – the sport of dogs can be highly contagious!
